Clinical study shows:
Aǹalemma water improves the state of the gut microbiome!
OVERVIEW OF THE CLINICAL TRIAL
PARTICIPANTS:
16 healthy adults aged 18 to 70.
STUDY DESIGN:
Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled — the “gold standard”
in scientific research where neither the participants nor the medical
personnel knows who is receiving the treatment and who is receiving
the Placebo.
TREATMENT:
The treatment phase consisted of drinking 50 oz (1.5 L) of Aǹalemma
water or Placebo for 100 consecutive days.
RESULTS:
The study found that consuming Aǹalemma water improves the gut
dysbiosis score by 16% over Placebo, indicating improved balance of
the gut microbiome.
What is the gut microbiome?
The human digestive tract is lined with trillions of microorganisms like bacteria and fungi that help make us who we are. Their roles are numerous and essential. Gut microbes break down the food we eat, help us absorb nutrients, and produce short-chain fatty acids, which our cells then use as an energy source. Through complex interplay with immune system pathways, the gut microbiome protects the body from harmful pathogens and even helps prevent autoimmune responses. Studies have also shown that changes in the gut microbiome affect our mood and behavior through production of neurotransmitters like serotonin, playing a significant role in conditions such as anxiety and depression.
A healthy diet and good exercise routine can do wonders for keeping the gut microbiome in a healthy state. But there’s another way you can support your gut. As our recent double-blind study indicates, drinking coherent water could be a new, groundbreaking way to improve the balance of your gut microbiome.
How do we analyze the state of the gut microbiome?
We performed this study in collaboration with Biovis Diagnostik, a research company that specializes in microbiome research. They developed a laboratory test which measures something called the dysbiosis index, a comprehensive measure of the health of the human gut. The test takes into account many different factors. For instance, one of the measured parameters is the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio, its name inspired by the two largest groups of bacteria making up the human gut microbiome. The ratio between these two groups reveals important insights into the overall state of the gut, with skewed ratios commonly found in metabolic diseases such as diabetes. The dysbiosis index also includes parameters like presence of pathogenic fungi (such as Candida), but also the presence of beneficial bacteria, such as butyrate-producing bacteria. Based on all of these different aspects, a final score is obtained, illustrating the overall state of the gut microbiome.
The second output was the pathogenic bacteria index. While the dysbiosis index provides a broader measure, often focusing on groups of similar bacteria, the pathogenic bacteria index is more straightforward. This index measures the presence of 11 distinct bacterial species with potentially negative (pathogenic) effects. As such, it serves as an important indicator of gut resilience.
Treatment phase
In order to determine the effects of Aǹalemma water on gut microbiota, a study was conducted on participants of varying ages. Prior to the study, a baseline test was conducted. Participants were then advised to consume a minimum of 50 oz (1.5 L) of Aǹalemma water per day for 3 months, while maintaining their regular lifestyle routines. After 3 months, a follow-up test was administered to assess the changes.

After only 3 months of regular consumption of Aǹalemma water, participants experienced an average 16% improvement in the dysbiosis index, compared to those who consumed Placebo.
The gut microbiome is a complex system simultaneously affected by a number of different genetic and environmental factors. Inter-individual differences play a significant role in gut health, as reflected in the highly varying response of different people to the same treatment.
For this reason, we looked at the overall number of participants who experienced any improvement in the gut microbiome, regardless of actual scores. For a person who starts off with a very low score due to prior circumstances, even a small change can mean a big improvement. Here, we found that 88% of participants who consumed Aǹalemma water experienced an improvement in the dysbiosis index, compared to only 38% of the Placebo group.
Similarly, compared to the Placebo group, a higher percentage of participants in the Aǹalemma group experienced either a decline or stable levels of the 11 bacterial species with known pathogenic effects. These findings suggest that Aǹalemma water has a protective effect on the human gut, helping us build resilience against harmful pathogens.
Coherent water for a balanced gut
The results of this study demonstrate the positive effects of high-quality coherent water on the state of our microbiome. But this is not where the story ends. The constant crosstalk between our own cells and the microbes in our gut affects all other areas of our health and wellbeing.
Gut microbes are modulating our immune responses from birth, teaching our bodies to tell the difference between harmful pathogens and our own, safe biomolecules. They are orchestrating the production of neurotransmitters that determine how we feel from day to day, shaping the fabric of our relationship with the world. And now, we can support them by changing the physical state of the water we drink.
This is what makes Aǹalemma a true revolution in water treatment. We need to drink water to survive, so why not choose the best one there is?
